Job Summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking an experienced and passionate Regional Clinical Development Nurse (RGN) to support and enhance clinical quality and governance across six of its care homes in South London. This leadership role involves reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in care standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and support clinical performance across six designated care homes.

Conduct monthly reviews of clinical governance data and KPIs to assess care quality and regulatory compliance.

Work closely with Regional Directors, improvement specialists, and senior clinical teams to develop and implement improvement strategies.

Provide clinical mentorship and guidance to nursing teams, including support for newly qualified nurses.

Assist in recruitment of senior clinical staff and support induction and development programmes.

Deliver and support clinical investigations, staff training, and performance improvement initiatives.

Actively promote best practices in nursing and person-centred care.

Ensure action plans are implemented effectively to address any issues found during audits or reviews.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

Registered Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.

Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and clinical compliance standards.

Previous experience working in a care home setting.

Confident clinical mentor, able to support and guide junior staff.

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to travel frequently across multiple care home sites.

Desirable:

Experience supporting multiple care homes or working in a regional role.

Knowledge of clinical governance frameworks in adult social care.
