About the Role
The Institute for Communication Systems (ICS) – home to the 6G Innovation Centre (6GIC) – is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to advanced research in antenna design for future 6G wireless communication systems.
As part of a dynamic research environment, you’ll focus on developing and evaluating innovative antenna technologies, including Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), electromagnetic wave propagation, and relevant aspects of 4G/5G air-interface technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on antenna and electromagnetic system design for 6G wireless technologies.
Collaborate with academic and industrial partners to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Develop, prototype, and evaluate hardware systems.
Contribute to high-quality publications and present findings at relevant conferences.
Participate in collaborative projects and assist in guiding PhD students where required.
About You
Essential:
A PhD (or near completion) in RF/Microwave Engineering, Antenna Design, or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with antenna systems, electromagnetic theory, and wireless communication technologies.
Experience in Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) is highly desirable.
A good publication record in relevant areas.
Proactive, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Preferred:
Experience working in both academic and industrial research settings.
Familiarity with 4G/5G air-interface and physical layer technologies.
