About the Role:

The School of the Built Environment at the University of Reading is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer to contribute to teaching in the areas of Building Services, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics. This is a one-year, fixed-term role that offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality teaching in one of the UK’s leading built environment schools.

The successful candidate will deliver core teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, particularly within the MEng/BEng in Architectural Engineering. The post is designed to complement existing expertise in energy, environmental engineering, and sustainable systems within the built environment context.

About You:

We are looking for candidates with:

A PhD in an engineering or closely related discipline. Applicants with a relevant postgraduate degree and significant industry experience will also be considered.

Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Sound knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and building services engineering, particularly as they apply to the built environment.
