About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate to gain hands-on experience working with children and young people experiencing anxiety, depression, and related mental health difficulties. Based at the ADY Research Clinic in Reading, you will be part of a joint initiative between Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Oxford, contributing to both clinical service and research.

This role is ideally suited for individuals aspiring to a career in clinical psychology or clinical research.

Key Responsibilities:

Work directly with children and young people as part of a clinical team.

Support recruitment and data collection for ongoing research studies.

Assist with assessments, interventions, and follow-up appointments.

Work under supervision in line with clinical governance and research protocols.

Maintain accurate and confidential records.

Essential Requirements:

A BSc in Psychology or a closely related discipline (eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the BPS).

Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health issues.

Experience working with children, young people, or families in a research or clinical setting.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage sensitive information and handle emotional situations professionally.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

This role involves regulated activity and requires an Enhanced DBS check with a Child Barred List check. The University of Reading is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and all staff must:

Salary and Terms:

Salary: University of Reading Grade 5

Contract: Fixed-term for 12 months, with a 6-month probationary period
