Job Summary

Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) looking to make a real difference in a compassionate, supportive environment? Elysium Healthcare is offering an exciting opportunity at Cefn Carnau, a secure/rehabilitation service in Caerphilly, South Wales, for adults with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred, high-quality care to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental illness, and personality disorders. With structured routines, varied clinical tasks, and robust development opportunities, this role is ideal for an RMN ready to grow and thrive in a professional, values-led healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to adults with complex needs.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.

Monitor patients’ mental and physical wellbeing, responding to changes appropriately.

Record and report care accurately in line with NMC and Elysium standards.

Work collaboratively within the MDT (multi-disciplinary team).

Support and mentor junior team members to promote continuous professional development.

Promote a positive and respectful ward environment in line with safeguarding and CQC standards.

What You’ll Need

Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.

Active NMC registration.

A positive, compassionate approach to mental healthcare.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Commitment to evidence-based care and professional standards.

Flexibility to work a combination of day and night shifts.

Cefn Carnau is a low-secure and rehabilitation facility providing care for adults with:

A primary diagnosis of learning disability, often alongside:

Autism

Personality disorders

Mental health conditions

Specialist therapies and interventions offered include:

Sex offender treatment programme

Anger management

Trauma-focused therapy

Art psychotherapy

Bespoke psychological therapies for individuals with learning disabilities
