About UCL Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at UCL is internationally recognized for its world-class teaching and research. Over the years, the department has been home to many distinguished mathematicians, including three Fields Medal winners: Professors Klaus Roth, Alan Baker, and Tim Gowers.
The department has grown significantly since 2014 and currently includes:
~80 academic staff (38 full professors)

About the Role
We are seeking a Teaching & Learning Administrator to join our professional services team in the Department of Mathematics. You will play a key role in supporting the administration of our postgraduate taught (PGT) programmes, including:
MSc in Financial Mathematics
MSc in Mathematical Modelling
MSc in Mathematics (launching in September 2026)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated support across the full student lifecycle—from enquiries and admissions through to graduation
Administer teaching and learning processes for PGT students, including timetabling, assessment, engagement monitoring, and course administration
Work closely with Programme Directors, Admissions Tutors, and the wider teaching and learning team (4 administrators, 2 senior administrators)
Support academic committees and produce reports (e.g., for examinations)
Ensure processes are clearly documented, compliant, and student-focused
This is a vital position supporting the smooth delivery of academic programmes and ensuring a high-quality experience for both students and staff.
About You
Essential Requirements:
5 GCSEs (grades A–C or equivalent) including English and Maths, or equivalent experience
Experience in administration, preferably in higher/further education or a teaching and learning setting
Familiarity with course/programme administration and online learning environments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—written and verbal
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff and students at all levels
Willingness to learn and use internal systems such as UCL Portico
Commitment to delivering excellent service and to personal and professional development
Strong understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI)
Desirable Attributes:
Educated to A-level or equivalent
Experience with administrative systems in the HE sector
Ability to create content using web publishing tools or Moodle
Experience generating reports for academic or administrative purposes
