About the Opportunity
Trafford & Stockport College Group (TSCG) is seeking a skilled and visionary education leader to take on the role of Director of Curriculum – Health & Wellbeing Education. This senior position offers a unique opportunity to lead, innovate, and grow a key curriculum area that plays a vital role in transforming student lives and supporting local workforce needs.
As the college undergoes expansion and development, your leadership will be instrumental in shaping high-quality, inclusive, and career-focused learning experiences within the Health and Social Care division.
About the Role
You will provide both strategic and operational leadership for the Health and Wellbeing curriculum, ensuring it is aligned with student aspirations, employer demands, and regional skills priorities. Working closely with Programme Leaders and Heads of Study, you will be responsible for improving outcomes, driving curriculum innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
This role involves:
Leading curriculum design and delivery across Health and Social Care programmes
Managing performance to achieve excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment
Aligning curriculum planning with labour market needs and student progression opportunities
Supporting the development of high-performing, motivated teams
Overseeing quality assurance, compliance, and performance indicators (retention, attendance, achievement)
Building and maintaining strong relationships with employers and external partners
Driving student recruitment and contributing to income growth
About You
You are an experienced education manager with a proven track record in curriculum leadership, ideally within Further Education and the Health or Early Years sectors. You understand the current and emerging needs of the health and care workforce and can translate these into meaningful curriculum development.

Significant experience leading curriculum areas, with measurable success in improving student outcomes
Strong understanding of sector expectations, policy developments, and future skills needs in Health & Social Care
A collaborative and motivational leadership style, capable of developing high-performing teams
Ability to manage resources effectively and drive improvements across multiple metrics
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, particularly with employers, regulators, and community partners
Committed to promoting inclusion, student achievement, and positive staff and learner experiences
Key Responsibilities
Strategically lead the Health & Wellbeing curriculum area in line with college and sector priorities
Improve key performance measures such as student retention, attendance, achievement, and progression
Align curriculum delivery with labour market needs and regional skills strategies
Oversee quality assurance through robust self-assessment, audits, and external reviews
Lead on staff performance management, development, and curriculum planning
Promote innovation in teaching and learning and champion best practice across the department
Foster a culture of high expectations, ambition, and continuous development

Salary placement is typically at the starting point of the grade, but this may be negotiated depending on experience, qualifications, or current salary.
