Lecturer in Finance (Maternity Cover)

Fixed-term, 12 months

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Finance to provide maternity cover on a fixed-term one-year contract. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching Finance modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, alongside associated responsibilities in module administration and student support.

Expertise in Financial Economics, Financial Markets, or Financial Stability would be highly desirable.

About the Department

The Department of Finance and Accounting is made up of two main areas: Finance (ICMA Centre) and Accountancy. This post is situated within Finance, where the appointee will be expected to make key contributions.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach across a range of Finance modules at undergraduate and pre-experience master’s level, as agreed with the Head of Department.
  • Deliver teaching in Financial Economics and Financial Markets (essential).
  • Use Blackboard or similar virtual learning environments to support teaching (experience desirable but not essential).
  • Contribute to academic administration, citizenship activities, and academic leadership roles as appropriate.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A PhD in Finance or Economics.
  • Experience of teaching at university level in English.
