About the Role
This new academic position is based within the Advanced Propulsion Lab (APL), located in the state-of-the-art Marshgate Building on UCL’s East Campus in Stratford, London.
The successful candidate will:
Develop and lead a pioneering research programme in Advanced Propulsion Technologies.
Secure significant external research funding to support a high-impact research agenda.
Contribute to the design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including lectures, project supervision, and potentially new module development.
Build and maintain national and international collaborations with industry, academia, government, and other stakeholders.
Demonstrate leadership and contribute to the wider academic, research, and professional community within the department and faculty.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
A PhD or EngD in engineering, physics, chemistry, or a closely related field.
Proven ability to conduct high-quality, original research in fields relevant to advanced propulsion.
An excellent publication record in internationally recognised journals.
A strong international reputation in academia or demonstrable equivalent industrial experience.
Evidence of effective, emotionally intelligent leadership and mentorship.
Desirable:
Experience of securing and managing research funding, including meeting funder requirements.
