Job Summary

Are you a qualified and experienced Pharmacy Technician looking to use your clinical and operational expertise in a digital role? Join the Pharmacy Digital Team at UHDB, a small and forward-thinking team dedicated to improving patient care through smarter use of data and technology.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the configuration and optimization of the Trust’s electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system. You’ll work closely with a range of stakeholders including pharmacy staff, clinical teams, and IT specialists to ensure the system supports safe, effective, and efficient patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Senior Pharmacist – Clinical Systems in the day-to-day management and development of the Trust’s ePMA system.

Lead on the configuration and ongoing optimization of ePMA functions.

Collaborate with the Chief Pharmacy Technicians for Automation and Pharmacy Systems to ensure interoperability across pharmacy systems (e.g., dispensing robots, cabinets, tracking, and stock control).

Deliver training and support to pharmacy staff, acting as a subject matter expert on ePMA.

Assist with stock control and related digital processes across hospital sites.

Investigate and propose improvements to existing systems, supported by data analysis and clinical insight.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Broad post-qualification experience in operational and/or clinical pharmacy.

Previous experience using ePMA systems in a clinical or operational setting.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, implement, and evaluate solutions.

Desirable Qualifications and Memberships

Membership of APTUK, British Computer Society, or Federation of Informatics Professionals.

Knowledge of Nervecentre, Lorenzo, Meditech, or other NHS ePMA platforms.

Understanding of pharmacy stock control systems and data reporting tools.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities.

Ability to work independently and escalate when necessary.

Excellent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and clinical systems.

Understanding of healthcare information governance, confidentiality, and safety regulations.
