We are inviting applications for the position of Consultant in Acute Medicine based in Truro, Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking team providing high-quality, patient-centered acute medical care in a beautiful and desirable location.
Team and Clinical Interests
You will be part of a supportive department consisting of:
10 Consultants
8 Specialty Doctors
The team brings a range of specialist interests, including:
Respiratory Medicine
Diabetes and Endocrinology
Renal Medicine
Gastroenterology
Intensive Care
Key Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality acute care pathways.
Engage in teaching and training activities in collaboration with the University of Exeter Medical School.
Participate in service improvement, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary working.
Support the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care while promoting a positive work–life balance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Full GMC registration.
Listed on the GMC Specialist Register in Acute Medicine, or within six months of obtaining CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) at the time of interview.
EU-equivalent qualifications are also accepted.
Additional Role Information
New consultants will receive 2.5 SPAs (Supporting Professional Activities) during their first year.
