About the Role
The Hourly Paid Lecturer (HPL) in Business Management will contribute to the teaching and academic support of undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will be responsible for delivering modules, developing learning materials, assessing students, and supervising dissertation projects.
You may be asked to teach in one or more of the following subject areas:
Marketing
Human Resource Management
Strategic Management
Project Management
International Business
Digital Skills
Data Handling & Business Intelligence
Applicants with expertise in other areas of Business Management are also encouraged to apply. There is also a specific need for dissertation supervisors at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate modules
Design and deliver engaging, student-focused teaching content
Develop assessment materials and provide constructive feedback
Supervise student projects and dissertations
Offer academic and pastoral support to students
Maintain academic standards and contribute to curriculum development
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality student experience
Essential Criteria
A postgraduate qualification in a relevant Business discipline
Experience teaching in UK Higher Education
Proven record of delivering and assessing at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
Experience designing and leading modules
Experience supervising undergraduate or postgraduate dissertations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team
Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
IT skills and experience with digital learning platforms
Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and working practices
Additional Information
Teaching hours are flexible and agreed upon before each term based on campus needs and lecturer availability.
