About the Department
The UCL Arts and Sciences (USA) Department runs several innovative interdisciplinary program
Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Basic): Combines arts, social sciences, and sciences, allowing students to specialize while maintaining broad academic exploration.
Master of Arts and Sciences (Masc.) in Creative Health: Focuses on non-clinical, community-led, and arts-based approaches to public health.
Bachelor in Creative Arts and Humanities (BACAH): A creative, practice-based humanities program launched in 2023/24 at UCL East.
PhD in Interdisciplinary Societies, Arts and Sciences: Welcomed its first cohort in 2023/24 and aims to grow to 20 students.
About the Role
We are hiring several Postgraduate Teaching Assistants (PGTAs) for the 2025/26 academic year to support teaching in the BASc, BACAH, and Masco program.
Key responsibilities:
Delivering small-group teaching (seminars/tutorials)
Participating in regular meetings with module leads
Providing student feedback and marking coursework/exams
Tracking student attendance
Supporting assessment and learning activities
Being present on-site (either at Bloomsbury or UCL East) for all teaching weeks and during exams
PGTAs are not expected to teach online. All roles will be supported by relevant training.
There are also marking-only roles available across the three programs.
Eligibility Criteria
Required:
Must be enrolled in at least the second year of a PhD by the start of contract (22 September 2025 for Term 1, or 5 January 2026 for Term 2)
Applicants with a completed PhD are not eligible
Open to students enrolled at UCL or other universities (preference given to UCL students)
Desirable:
Previous experience in undergraduate teaching
Subject knowledge relevant to specific BASC-coded modules (see job pack for details)
You may apply for up to three modules per term, but you will only be assigned one module per term if selected.

This role does not qualify for a Skilled Worker visa sponsorship
All contracts cover teaching, preparation, marking, and office hours
