About the Role:

Millennium Dine is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef specializing in Indian cuisine, including Tandoori preparations. The successful candidate will lead our kitchen operations, overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes. This role is ideal for a chef with strong leadership qualities, a creative culinary approach, and a deep understanding of Indian cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Execution: Plan, prepare, and oversee the preparation of a wide range of Indian dishes, ensuring high standards in taste, presentation, and consistency.

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, delegate responsibilities, and ensure efficient teamwork during service hours.

Menu Innovation: Collaborate on developing and updating the menu, introducing innovative Indian and Tandoori dishes that reflect both tradition and modern trends.

Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control over all food items; regularly inspect ingredients and final dishes for consistency and excellence.

Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of orders.

Health & Safety: Enforce hygiene and food safety standards in line with UK regulations, maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

Inventory & Stock Control: Monitor stock levels, minimize waste, and manage ingredient rotation to ensure freshness.

Culinary Creativity: Contribute creative ideas for menu development, food presentation, and customer experience enhancement.

Requirements:

Culinary qualifications or professional training from a recognized institution

Minimum 4–5 years of experience in a high-paced restaurant, specifically in Indian cuisine and Tandoori cooking

Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Indian cooking techniques

Demonstrated leadership and team management skills

Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure

Full understanding of food hygiene, health, and safety standards

Strong communication skills

Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays

Proactive, responsible, and driven by a passion for food excellence

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on foot for extended periods

Manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools and ingredients efficiently
