Overview:
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced pharmacy technician to join our Pharmacy Management Team as Deputy Chief Pharmacy Technician. This Band 7 leadership role is pivotal in shaping the future of the pharmacy technician and assistant workforce across the Trust.
This is a newly created post with a strategic focus, ideal for a forward-thinking professional with strong leadership skills and a solid background in hospital pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and support pharmacy technicians and assistants across all LYPFT sites

Provide operational oversight and contribute to service development and transformation

Support the implementation of workforce initiatives and cost-saving strategies

Ensure compliance with professional, legal, and regulatory standards

Work closely with senior pharmacy leadership including the Chief Pharmacy Technician and Business Operations Manager

Collaborate with regional and national partners to improve workforce development

Support quality improvement and innovation in clinical pharmacy services
-
Contribute to the delivery of 7-day services, including participation in weekend and bank holiday rotes
Essential Skills & Experience:
-
Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy services, particularly clinical and ward-based care

Proven leadership and staff management experience

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Strong understanding of NHS systems, challenges, and workforce development needs

Knowledge of pharmacy legislation, governance, and best practice

Ability to think strategically and lead service development
