About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Psychologist to join a specialist mental health service in Oldham, providing care and treatment for men who are deaf and have complex communication needs. This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to shape and enhance psychological services within a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual and group psychological therapies using models such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR.

  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, including cognitive and diagnostic evaluations, risk assessments, and formulation of psychological reports.

  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and leadership to a team of psychologists and psychological assistants.

  • Actively participate in MDT (multidisciplinary team) discussions and contribute to service governance processes.

  • Support the development and implementation of new clinical practices and service improvement strategies.\

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.

  • Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology (or equivalent).

  • Eligibility for BPS Chartership.

  • Proven experience working with individuals who have complex mental health needs and a history of trauma.

  • Strong skills in psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based intervention delivery.
