About the Role:

Liverpool City Council is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Short Breaks Support Worker to support disabled children in building independence and forming friendships in a safe and inclusive environment.

As part of our Ousted-registered provision, you’ll play a vital role in facilitating enjoyable and enriching experiences for children while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support disabled children to attend friendship groups and community activities

  • Help promote independence, confidence, and social interaction

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure a safe environment

  • Commit to working 1 evening and 1 weekend session per week

  • Be available for additional hours during school holidays

  • Work effectively as part of a team to deliver high-quality support

What We’re Looking For:

  • Some experience supporting disabled children and their families

  • Understanding of child safeguarding and protection protocols

  • Flexible, reliable, and a good team player

  • Commitment to creating a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment

Training Provided:

You will receive fully funded training, including:

  • First Aid

  • Epilepsy awareness

  • Moving and handling

  • Food hygiene

  • TEAM TEACH (positive behavior management)

Working Hours:

  • 8 hours per week (1 evening + 1 weekend session)

  • Extra hours may be offered during school holidays
