Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
A new role as Senior Support Pharmacist Women’s and Children’s Services on the UHB Trust site at Good Hope Hospital is available for proactive, dynamic individuals with vision, drive and enthusiasm to join the pharmacy team.
This could be the perfect position for you if you’re a driven and passionate clinical pharmacist who has experience working in a hospital pharmacy, covering a variety of specialities, or if you can demonstrate the same degree of knowledge and are prepared to take your career to the next level.
This position, which is available as a band 6 to 7 development function depending on experience, entails working as a Clinical Support Pharmacist stationed at a single site as part of our rotational program. Upon completion of the necessary competences to prove your senior support level job, you will be promoted to the Senior Support Pharmacist Healthcare of Older People role.
After completing the first year of the clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway, applicants with 12 months of post-registration hospital experience will be appointed in a progressional post under Agenda for Change Annex 21 (paying 75% of the maximum band 7 pay). After that, they will be promoted to the starting pay of a band 7 in accordance with Agenda for Change. After that, every applicant will move on to the independent prescribing course.
Essential responsibilities, tasks, and abilities
You will provide excellent specialised clinical pharmacy services, and there will be a significant focus on helping you advance your leadership and mentoring abilities.
You will be given an overview of the main functions of the directorate, which include the analysis and reporting of medical expenses, clinical governance, risk management, and PGD and policy reviews. You will get the chance to receive clinical training in neonatal parenteral nutrition and intensive care unit care.
Furthermore, you will assume more responsibilities in the areas of education and training, like creating training curricula and helping to teach future physicians. Junior chemists and trainee chemists, among other team members with less experience, will be under your control.
You’ll be a highly driven individual who works well in a team and has strong communication skills. You’ll also want to use your knowledge, experience, and abilities to help healthcare professionals use medications more effectively and to improve patient care.
As part of a team of clinical pharmacists, you will assist in providing on-call coverage, with support from Specialist and Advanced Clinical Pharmacists.
