JOB SUMMARY

The Neurorehab Unit is a 19-bed inpatient unit that offers a Consultant-led Specialist Level 2 Unit. Patients are admitted from the neurology ward, ITU, tertiary neurosurgical units, complex stroke patients from stroke units, and spinal injury patients from orthopaedic hospitals in Kent and London. There is close collaboration with the 18-bed neurology ward on the same hospital location.

Provide professional leadership, advise, and direction to junior nurses and healthcare assistants while also fostering collaborative partnerships with other disciplines.

Effectively communicate with patients and their relatives, guaranteeing accurate and seamless information transmission and documentation.

Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of agreed-upon standards, ensuring that any deficiencies are brought to the attention of the line manager.

Ensure that all quality efforts in the nursing environment are followed and that the highest level of care is maintained at all times.

Assist in the formulation of clinical procedures and ensure that they are revised in accordance with the demands of the service in collaboration with the Ward/Unit manager.

Ensure that accurate and legible patient records are maintained in accordance with professional and legal standards.

Establish and maintain excellent working relationships and communication with consultants, medical personnel, nursing colleagues, and other multi-agency professionals.
