About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and talented Lecturer in Finance to provide maternity cover within our Accounting and Finance Department. This is a 16-month fixed-term role where you’ll teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and academic administration.
You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to pedagogical innovation or research aligned with our key finance areas.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates who can bring creativity, strong communication, and academic rigour. The ideal applicant will have:
- A good undergraduate degree
- A PhD or relevant professional qualifications in finance or related fields
- Teaching experience in higher education
- (Desirable) Industry experience in finance
You’ll also be encouraged to contribute to wider academic activities and collaborations across the School and external partners.
About the Department
The Accounting and Finance Department at Aston comprises nearly 50 members and has a strong reputation for innovative teaching and impactful research.
Our Finance Group focuses on:
- Sustainable finance
- Digital finance and cryptocurrencies
- Corporate finance and governance
- Asset pricing, volatility forecasting, and econometrics
- Real options and financial stability
We work closely with bodies such as the CFA Institute, CISI, and CMT Association, integrating professional standards and practice into our teaching.
