Deputy Homes Manager – Children’s Residential Services

Location: The Bungalow, East Sussex
Full-time | Includes weekend working
Salary: £37,667 – £44,428 per annum (includes two weekend working supplements)

We’re looking for a Deputy Homes Manager to join our dedicated team at The Bungalow, one of our children’s homes in East Sussex. Our homes support vulnerable children by providing high-quality, stable care through a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Homes Manager (RHM) in the day-to-day running of the home, contributing to the delivery of a safe, caring, and enriching environment where children can thrive. You will also lead and support a team of care professionals, ensuring best practice, compliance, and continuous improvement in line with care standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the operational management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted’s Inspection Framework, the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations and Quality Standards 2015

Co-lead on developing and implementing individualised care plans and risk assessments, tailored to the needs and goals of each child

Deputise for the Registered Homes Manager in their absence

Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, families, and the wider community to promote positive outcomes for young people

Mentor and supervise residential staff, ensuring their development and wellbeing in line with organisational values and safeguarding principles

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a compassionate, skilled professional who brings:

Substantial experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting

Supervisory or managerial experience, with the confidence to lead a team

A Level 3 Diploma/QCF (or equivalent qualification) relevant to working with children and young people

A sound understanding of child development, attachment theory, trauma, and therapeutic parenting approaches

Experience in implementing care plans and contributing to safeguarding and protection procedures
