Pharmacy Technician (or Pre-Registration Trainee – Final Year)

Location: Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Salary: Band 4 (progression to Band 5 dependent on experience and development)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 per week, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays
Visa Sponsorship: Eligible for Skilled Worker visa applicants – subject to criteri

About the role

As part of our team, you’ll contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, trust-wide pharmacy service. Your responsibilities will include:

Main Duties:

  • Accuracy checking of dispensed medicines
  • Day-to-day supervision of dispensary teams, including within automated systems
  • Aseptic services supervision and ward-based medicines optimisation
  • Supporting education and training across the department
  • Mentoring Pharmacy Assistants, PTPTs, and junior Pharmacy Technicians
  • Undertaking clinical audits and quality improvement projects
  • Assisting in the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

You will rotate through a variety of clinical areas and hospital sites, gaining exposure to the full breadth of our service. You’ll also work evening and weekend shifts as part of our extended opening hours (9:00 AM – 8:30 PM on weekdays).
