About the Role
The School of Applied Sciences at UWE Bristol is seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Biological and Biomedical Sciences. In this key academic role, you’ll support both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) teaching while also leading modules and supervising student research projects.
You’ll teach across a variety of programmes including:
- BSc (Hons) and MSci Biomedical Science
- Biological Sciences
- Environmental and Forensic Science
- MSc Biomedical Science and related areas
This is your opportunity to deliver engaging, inclusive teaching and play an active part in curriculum development and student success.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver and assess on UG and PG Biological and Biomedical Science programmes
- Lead modules and supervise research projects
- Contribute to curriculum innovation and student experience
- Engage in research or scholarly activity aligned with school priorities
- Promote employability and skill-building in scientific education
- Collaborate with colleagues to support School-wide teaching goals
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with:
- A PhD (or equivalent) in a subject aligned with Biological or Biomedical Sciences
- Teaching experience at HE level, including module leadership and research supervision
- Strong understanding of applied statistics and practical scientific skills
- Expertise in cell biology, cancer biology, or molecular biology is desirable
- Ability to inspire students, design inclusive assessments, and support career development
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and widening participation initiatives
