We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Lecturer in Fashion & Textile Design to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Art School. About the Course
The BA (Hons) Fashion & Textile Design programme is designed to support students specialising in either discipline, while also encouraging hybrid practices and collaborative innovation. Students explore the full spectrum of fashion product development, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, enterprise, and cultural relevance.
About You
You will bring expertise and experience in Fashion & Textile Design, ideally with a background in fashion design, textile innovation, and sustainable product development. We are particularly interested in individuals with a strong understanding of fashion manufacturing processes and a commitment to preparing students for careers as skilled, socially engaged, and employable creatives.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- A clear understanding of contemporary challenges and opportunities in sustainable fashion and textiles
- An ability to deliver engaging, practice-based teaching and support students in building confident, professional identities
- Awareness of how design education functions not only practically, but also as a cultural and societal force
- Evidence of academic excellence and/or industry experience relevant to the continued development and innovation of the course
- A desire to contribute to research and knowledge exchange within the School as part of our evolving research strategy
