Registered Pharmacy Technician – Research & Aseptic Services

We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our forward-thinking Pharmacy Research team at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality clinical trials and play a key role in advancing patient care and innovation within the Trust.

You’ll support the delivery and governance of both commercial and non-commercial research studies, while also assisting our Aseptic Services team in preparing chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition (PN), CIVAS, and aseptic clinical trial products.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense and accuracy-check Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) in line with study protocols.
• Develop and maintain Pharmacy Site Files and ensure all study documentation meets regulatory standards.
• Write and implement dispensing protocols in collaboration with research and development teams.
• Liaise with study sponsors, investigators, and research nurses to support smooth trial setup and monitoring.
• Support aseptic services, including pre- and in-process checking of sterile products.
• Attend and contribute to site initiation visits, feasibility meetings, and monitoring visits.
• Manage stock levels, investigate temperature excursions, and update clinical trial databases.
• Take part in the aseptic weekend, evening, and bank holiday rota as required.

What You’ll Need

• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Level 3 qualification in Pharmacy Services.
• Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification.
• Substantial post-qualification experience.
• Ability to work safely within aseptic environments and reach stock stored at varying heights.
• Experience with IMPs and aseptic services is desirable.
