Location: Guildford
Contract: Temporary – 3 months initially, with potential for extension
Hours: 41 hours per week (including early starts and weekend work)
Salary: Competitive, with overtime opportunities

Join Our Grounds Team This Summer

We’re currently recruiting full-time seasonal operatives to support our parks, gardens, open spaces, and highway verges across Guildford during our busiest time of the year.

This hands-on role is a great opportunity to:

  • Maintain vibrant floral displays and shrub beds
  • Assist with grass cutting and general grounds maintenance
  • Help prepare and maintain sports surfaces for public use

You’ll be working outdoors with our dedicated team of gardeners, ensuring our public spaces remain beautiful, accessible, and well-kept throughout the spring and summer months.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who:

  • Are physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
  • Have a keen interest in gardening, horticulture, or grounds maintenance
  • Are quick to learn and enthusiastic about hands-on work
  • Can follow instructions and work effectively in a team

Previous experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture is welcome but not essential — full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided. A full UK driving licence is desirable, especially for candidates willing to drive Council vehicles between sites.
