About the Role

The Nottingham Institute of Education is recruiting a Senior Lecturer in Primary Initial Teacher Education (ITE). We are searching for candidates with a focus in maths and/or science to lead our PGCE Primary ITE Course and teach on both our postgraduate (PGCE) and undergraduate (BA) 3-11 Primary Initial Teacher Education with QTS courses.

You will be part of a big and supportive team of Primary specialty colleagues, contributing to both subject-specific and general professional development. You will have a solid foundation and evident love for primary education in school settings, as well as experience successfully supporting trainees on placement.

Experience in the HEI sector, including Course Leadership, is especially valued. You will be aware of current concerns in Primary Education and have a full understanding of curriculum and best practice (pedagogy) in this sector, as well as the ability to assess a variety of data to inform future provision and ensure outstanding student outcomes and experiences. Experience with how to completely and successfully prepare for an Ofsted inspection is vital. You will have a strong commitment to maintaining and developing partnerships with existing and new partners, as well as a true personal and professional openness to new methods of working in response to industry changes.

You should be an exceptional communicator who can motivate employees and lead or participate in appropriate research projects. You should be committed to your own personal professional development, and you will be supported in this endeavour, including further study as needed. You should be well-versed in the present educational context and have a clear vision for delivering high-quality study programmes.
