About the Role
For informal enquiries, please contact Ian O’Donoghue (Technical Supervisor) at I.F.C.O-Donoghue@warwick.ac.uk

We welcome applications for part-time or flexible working arrangements, even for roles advertised as full-time, unless operational or other objective reasons prevent this.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technician with a live events background and a passion for learning to become a key member of a dedicated team within a dynamic and diverse higher education environment.

We are currently inviting applications for a permanent, full-time (36.5 hours per week) position in the School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures (SCAPVC). Applications for job-sharing or part-time work are also encouraged.

About You
As a Technician, the successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day installation, operation, and maintenance of SCAPVC’s equipment, which plays a key role in the delivery of practice-based coursework and broader event support.

You will provide mentoring to undergraduate students, offering training in valuable transferable skills.

The role involves liaising with students and teaching staff to discuss the feasibility and development of a variety of projects, offering support and training as needed, and ensuring the availability of spaces and equipment for rehearsals and presentations. Additionally, the post holder will collaborate with the Technical Supervisor on maintenance, operational, or developmental issues, as well as the upkeep of consumable stock and the enhancement of specialist areas and equipment.

A strong background in the entertainment industry is required, along with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with designers and artists regarding the planning, installation, and operation of various performance media. A solid technical understanding of live production arts is essential, and experience in design is advantageous. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Please refer to the personal specification section of the attached job description for more details on the required skills for this role.
