A new opportunity has arisen to become a Women’s Recovery Worker, enabling more women to access services and improve their life possibilities in areas such as health and wellbeing, safety, and offending behaviours.

No two days are the same, and we consider each person that enters our programme as an individual, so being adaptable, inquiring, and a good listener is essential.

Where: Kent.

Hours: 37.5 each week.

Salary range: £27,449.53 – £31,529.41, based on experience pro rata.

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Supporting service users from the moment they enter the service and throughout their treatment or recovery journey.
  • Providing screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referral.
  • Reducing drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the larger community.
  • Encouraging carer, service user, and community participation
  • advocating for access to partnership services.
  • Working with service users to foster social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives by promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
  • Research, design, and prepare subject content and resources for groups or pods.
  • Provide organised content in group settings to serve consumers at different phases of recovery.
  • Engage in debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods have occurred, analysing progress and finding concerns with service users.
  • Customise specialised workshops based on the needs of service users, such as anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc.

 

About You:

  • Have a deep understanding of substance abuse issues and experience working in a related field.
  • Experience dealing with groups/pods and handling group dynamics, such as conflict or disruptive behaviour.
  • Be an outstanding communicator, both vocal and written, with strong IT abilities.
  • Proactive and able to work on their own initiative, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Have a solid working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
  • Be a supportive team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse spectrum of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ability to properly manage change in a way that prioritises the requirements of service users.
  • Understand the significance of information governance processes and commit to following and implementing all essential protections.
  • Seek out learning opportunities to strengthen and broaden your professional knowledge and skills, as well as to contribute and monitor others’ learning and growth.

Salary Range (pro-rata for part-time)

CGL points 23–28 (£27,449.52–£31,529.41)
