JOB SUMMARY
Drives initiatives to increase the Engineering function’s effectiveness and collaborates with other functions to ensure efficient coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional procedures, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Impacts departmental operations, and is in charge of planning and implementation. The role has some autonomy, although it is primarily concerned with the execution of activities within an operating discipline governed by conventional functional standards and procedures. Some judgement may be necessary, however this is usually done with instruction.
Job Description.
Roles and responsibilities
- Engine Test Software should be maintained and updated to ensure that it accurately reflects the Engine Test Manuals.
- Backup Engine Test Software on a regular basis to ensure that there is a backup plan in place in case of a significant system failure.
- Monitor trend analysis using “Test Cell Analysis Reports (TCA)” automatically generated reports, in conjunction with “Propulsion Engineering,” and disseminate key information to affected Engine Shop Operations departments, proposing and implementing corrective action as needed.
- Test Efficiency Focal – assess and monitor test efficiency performance, and provide problem-solving reports and action plans for continuous development.
- Maintain regular contact and liaison with the software OEM to maintain product reliability and serviceability.
- Troubleshoot Engine Test Software by verifying Engine Performance data to check that it is functioning properly.
- The Engine Performance Database is maintained and updated.
- OEM Manual Revisions are vetted to guarantee that Engine Test Software is in line with manuals.
- Assist with customer audits, ensuring that all test software is compliant and consistent with ESM.
- RCCA – connect pareto data from trend monitoring to address systemic concerns.
- Ability to lead and facilitate issue resolution in order to increase performance and minimise waste and non-value activities.
- Assist with manufacturing demands when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- This position necessitates extensive experience in Engineering/Software and Operations. The knowledge level is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an authorised university or college.
