Job Description
Overview
The Wales Site Quality Leader will provide both strategic and technical leadership to promote a Zero Defect Culture and ensure Proactive Quality within Wales MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) operations. This role will lead the site quality team, working closely with MRO and Services leadership to drive continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic
Lead and embed a Zero Defect Culture and Proactive Quality practices across Wales MRO operations.
Work with Services Business Leadership to deliver Breakthrough Objectives and key improvement priorities.
Champion Lean Transformation in quality operations, applying methods and tools such as structured problem-solving.
Partner directly with customers and customer teams to drive quality improvements and strengthen the customer experience.
Advance the use and maturity of quality tools across MRO operations.
Organizational
Lead and develop an experienced team of quality professionals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including services, programs, product support engineering, customer teams, and the wider GE quality organization.
Provide regular coaching and mentoring to team members, supporting both technical and professional growth.
Operational
Ensure performance against Key Performance Indicators for in-process and delivered quality.
Maintain strong regulatory and quality system compliance.
Secure and sustain regulatory and operator approvals, working with engine programs and the wider network strategy.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
Significant experience in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related area.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and inspire teams.
Desired Characteristics
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively from the shop floor to senior leadership.
Knowledge of GE Aviation quality policies and procedures (advantageous).
Strong track record of leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
Solid program and project management experience.
