Maternal & Fetal Medicine

  • Urogynaecology

    A balanced on-call rota (approximately 1 in 9)

Your Role in the Team

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-call rotas covering obstetrics and gynaecology
    Manage patients independently at an ST3+ level
    Work across outpatient clinics, theatres, and antenatal services
    Contribute to patient safety, audits, and quality improvement projects

Teaching & Education

  • Deliver teaching to approximately 170 medical students from:
    University of Bristol
    University of Plymouth (Peninsula Medical School)

Facilitate:

  • Clinical skills teaching
    Bedside teaching
    Simulation sessions
    Small group tutorials and seminars
    Support student assessment (e.g. OSCEs)
    Act as a mentor and role model, supporting both academic and pastoral needs

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
    MBBS (or equivalent medical degree)
    MRCOG Part 1
    Ability to work at ST3+ level

Desirable

  • Full membership of RCOG
    Previous teaching or training experience

Experience & Skills

  • Confident in assessing and managing acute obstetric and gynaecological cases
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
    Interest in medical education and mentorship
    Ability to balance clinical duties with teaching responsibilities
