About the Role

We are inviting applications from experienced Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, or Clinical Scientists who hold a Master’s qualification in Advanced Practice and are passionate about delivering specialist respiratory care to children and young people.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established Advanced Practitioner (AP) Respiratory team that has been successfully embedded within services for over six years. You will work with children who have complex respiratory needs, contributing directly to their diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management.

Whether you already have paediatric respiratory expertise or are keen to develop it further, we provide structured supervision, consultant support, and a personalised development pathway to help you grow professionally and clinically.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Advanced Practitioner in Respiratory Services, you will:

  • Clinical Excellence
  • Deliver autonomous, high-level clinical assessments and initiate treatments within your scope of practice
  • Manage and monitor complex respiratory conditions in children and young people
  • Interpret investigations and adapt care plans accordingly
  • Provide care during procedures and specialist respiratory treatments

Leadership & Service Development

  • Act as a senior clinical role model within paediatric respiratory care
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and benchmarking activities
  • Support transformation and service development projects
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and research activities

Collaboration & Education

  • Provide expert advice to multidisciplinary teams
  • Support trainee Advanced Practitioners and junior colleagues
  • Deliver teaching, mentoring and preceptorship
  • Promote evidence-based practice and safeguarding standards

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is registered with NMC, HCPC or GPhC
  • Holds a Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice (or equivalent competence across all AP domains)
  • Has senior-level experience within children’s healthcare
  • Holds (or is willing to undertake) Non-Medical Prescribing qualification
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, resilience and emotional intelligence
  • Has experience in audit, quality improvement and research utilisation
  • Can confidently manage complex family dynamics and safeguarding concerns
  • Shows commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive practice
  • Completion (or willingness to complete) Emergency Paediatric Life Support (EPLS) and Good Clinical Practice training is required.
