What You’ll Be Responsible For
Advanced Clinical Practice
- Deliver high-level respiratory assessment, diagnosis and treatment within your authorised scope
- Lead clinical decision-making for children with complex respiratory presentations
- Interpret investigations and monitor treatment effectiveness
- Ensure care aligns with national standards and trust policies
Clinical Leadership & Improvement
- Act as a senior clinical role model within multidisciplinary teams
- Promote evidence-based practice through audit and benchmarking
- Support service transformation and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide specialist advice across internal and external clinical teams
Family-Centred Care
- Work closely with children, young people and families to improve experience and outcomes
- Manage sensitive or complex situations with professionalism and empathy

Essential Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- Registration with a recognised UK professional body enabling advanced practice
- Master’s degree in Advanced Practice (or equivalent competence)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Non-medical prescribing qualification (or willingness to complete)
- Emergency paediatric life support training (or willingness to undertake)
- Good Clinical Practice training (or willingness to complete)
Essential Experience & Capabilities
- Senior-level experience in paediatric or relevant clinical settings
- Leadership and team management experience
- Participation in research, audit or quality improvement
- Advanced clinical reasoning and communication skills
- Ability to support trainees and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Strong safeguarding awareness
- Evidence-based decision making
- Resilience, professionalism and adaptability
- Desirable experience includes clinical leadership training, teaching qualifications, publication or conference presentation.
