This is a unique opportunity for a motivated Obstetrics & Gynaecology registrar to step into a Clinical Teaching Fellow role that blends hands-on clinical practice with structured teaching and professional development.

Your Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Education
- Deliver engaging teaching to approximately 170 medical students from
University of Bristol and
University of Plymouth
Facilitate a variety of teaching formats including:
Clinical skills sessions
Small group tutorials
Simulation-based training
Case-based discussions and OSCE preparation
Act as a mentor and role model, supporting both academic and pastoral needs
Develop innovative teaching materials and approaches
Clinical Duties
Participate in on-call rotas for Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Gain experience in:
- Operating theatres
Antenatal and gynaecology clinics
Maintain and enhance clinical skills while supporting patient care
Professional Development
- Undertake a PG Certificate in Medical Education
Engage in research, audits, and quality improvement projects
Present work at internal academic events and training awards
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Full registration with the
General Medical Council
MBBS (or equivalent medical degree)
MRCOG Part 1
Ability to perform at ST3+ level in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Essential Experience & Skills
- Confident in assessing and managing acutely unwell patients
Experience working in a busy clinical O&G environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Interest and enthusiasm for medical education and teaching
Desirable
- Full membership of the
Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
Prior teaching or mentoring experience
