About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry to join a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic team within the School of Pharmacy at the University of Reading.
The successful candidate will contribute to both teaching and research in pharmaceutical chemistry and related areas such as pharmaceutical and cosmetic sciences. The role also involves engaging in academic administration and contributing to the wider academic community.
This position is based within the Division of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, part of the School of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
Conduct and publish research in an area aligned with pharmaceutical science
Supervise student projects and contribute to curriculum development
Participate in administrative and academic service activities
Collaborate across disciplines within the School and wider University
Essential Criteria
- A first degree and PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a closely related discipline
Strong subject knowledge in pharmaceutical chemistry
Demonstrated research expertise in a relevant field
Experience teaching in higher education, including lecturing to diverse groups
Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Commitment to continuous professional development and flexible teaching approaches
Innovative mindset towards teaching and research
