About the Role

Dowty Propellers, part of GE Aerospace, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will ensure that our products, processes, and systems meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving our Quality Management System (QMS), supporting audits, driving corrective actions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

This is a full-time position based at our Brockworth facility (near Gloucester), offering hybrid working and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a world-class aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Maintain and update quality manuals, procedures, and regulatory documentation within the company’s QMS framework.
  • Review regulatory and customer requirements (CAA, EASA, FAA, CAAC) and integrate them into company processes.
  • Prepare for and support internal, customer, and external regulatory audits.
  • Ensure timely management of customer complaints, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee quality-related IT system updates to ensure compliance with inventory control and release procedures.

Authorisation & Compliance

  • Manage and support personnel competency authorisations and training programs.
  • Conduct or lead investigations into quality issues, human factors incidents, and process non-conformances.
  • Support maintenance and development of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).

Continuous Improvement

  • Represent the Quality function in daily operational meetings, driving quality improvement actions.
  • Escalate and manage resolution of non-conformances and compliance issues.
  • Deliver quality and regulatory training sessions to employees.

Auditing

  • Plan and perform internal system, product, and process audits.
  • Promote best practices in FOD (Foreign Object Debris), ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), calibration, and safety awareness.

About You

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in quality engineering within a highly regulated manufacturing industry (aerospace preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (CAA, EASA, FAA, CAAC).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business management systems.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) environments.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and related quality standards.
  • Familiarity with product certification and release processes.
  • Degree, HNC, or HND in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
