Vets Now Referrals Manchester is a leading small animal referral hospital, delivering exceptional care across a range of specialties, including Emergency and Critical Care. Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, supported by a team of experienced specialists and clinicians.
We offer a Structured Small Animal Rotating Internship Programme designed for motivated veterinary professionals who wish to gain hands-on experience, structured mentorship, and professional development in a multi-disciplinary environment.
About the Role
This one-year internship is ideal for recent graduates or veterinary surgeons with experience in general practice who want to advance their clinical skills and broaden their knowledge base.
Interns rotate through Internal Medicine/Cardiology, Surgery, and Emergency and Critical Care, with opportunities for elective rotations based on individual interests.
The programme provides an excellent foundation for those pursuing further specialist training or looking to enhance confidence and capability in clinical case management across a varied caseload.
Key Responsibilities
As a Rotating Intern, you will:
- Participate actively in all rotations, working alongside specialists and senior clinicians.
- Perform examinations, assist in diagnostic workups, and contribute to developing and implementing treatment plans under supervision.
- Support and assist in surgical procedures, medical cases, and emergency situations.
- Engage collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver the highest standards of patient care.
- Take part in regular seminars, workshops, journal clubs, and research activities to support your professional development.
Requirements
To be considered, applicants must have:
- A veterinary degree recognised by the RCVS.
- RCVS registration (or eligibility to register).
- Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is available for overseas candidates).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to perform well in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment.
- A proactive, adaptable approach and a commitment to continuous learning.

- Salary: £32,000 per annum
- Professional Fees: RCVS and VDS registration costs covered
