Role Purpose
The appointed Associate Professor will strengthen the Department’s profile through high-impact research, innovative teaching, and academic leadership. You will contribute to the Department’s strategic research priorities, support the development of early-career academics, and play an important role in enhancing Henley’s international standing.
Key Responsibilities
Research
- Produce world-leading and internationally excellent publications in recognised journals.
- Build and sustain a research agenda that aligns with, and enhances, the Department’s strengths.
- Apply for and secure external research funding, individually or collaboratively.
- Contribute to the activities of the Dunning Centre for International Business.
Teaching & Learning
- Teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in international business, strategy, or related areas.
- Develop new modules or enhance existing curricula, ensuring alignment with current global trends.
- Supervise PhD researchers and contribute to doctoral development activities.
Leadership & Citizenship
- Provide academic leadership within the Department and participate in School-wide initiatives.
- Mentor colleagues and support collaborative research activities.
- Represent Henley at national and international conferences and in professional networks.
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
- A PhD in International Business, Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
- A sustained record of top-tier journal publications and a growing international research reputation.
- Evidence of successful teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- A research portfolio that complements departmental expertise.
- Experience in obtaining external funding.
- A collegial, inclusive approach to academic leadership and collaboration.
Desirable Attributes
- Engagement in international research networks.
- Experience supervising doctoral students to completion.
- Leadership experience within an academic institution.
