About Rare Dementia Support (RDS)
Rare Dementia Support (RDS) is a UCL-led initiative providing specialist social, emotional, and practical support for individuals living with, or caring for someone with, a rare form of dementia.
Our mission is to ensure that everyone affected has access to:

RDS is delivered through the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the new Rare Dementia Support Centre (RDSC). Reporting directly to Professor Sebastian Crutch, you will work closely with the RDS Executive Team, including the Head of Support Services and Governance Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operational, administrative, and logistical functions of the Centre
- Oversee health and safety, facilities, and space management
- Support community engagement and volunteer programmes
- Coordinate events, meetings, and workshops
- Foster a professional and welcoming environment for service users and staff
- This is a critical on-site role ensuring the smooth functioning of the Centre and contributing directly to its mission of providing high-quality support for people affected by rare dementias.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience in facilities and health & safety management
- Experience in community organisations, volunteer management, and event coordination
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for supporting the vision and mission of RDS
- This position is open to international applicants and meets the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa.
