About the Role
Henley Business School is looking for a dynamic and research-active Associate Professor in Accounting to strengthen our internationally recognised Accounting group. We are seeking a scholar with a strong portfolio of publications in leading Accounting journals and a forward-looking research agenda with potential for impactful funding applications.
The successful applicant will contribute to research leadership, deliver high-quality teaching across Accounting disciplines, and play an active role in departmental service and academic citizenship.
This opportunity sits within the Department of Finance and Accounting—comprising the ICMA Centre (Finance) and the Accounting group—where collaborative and interdisciplinary work is strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-quality programme of independent research contributing to the School’s international reputation.
- Publish consistently in top-tier Accounting journals and build a competitive research funding profile.
Teach across undergraduate and master’s programmes in areas such as:
- Management Accounting
- Financial Accounting
- Data Analytics in Accounting
- Contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and module leadership.
- Take on administrative responsibilities and academic leadership tasks as appropriate.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of the Department’s research culture and teaching excellence.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- A completed PhD in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Evidence of university-level teaching experience.
- Strong experience with data analytics in Accounting.
- A portfolio of research publications in top-ranked Accounting journals.
- Commitment to departmental citizenship, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
