About the Role

Whittington Health is seeking a proactive and strategic Job Planning Lead to transform workforce planning for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). You will lead the rollout and optimisation of e-Job Planning systems for the AHP workforce, supporting service improvements and workforce productivity through structured project and programme management.

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Chief AHP and collaborate across clinical divisions to ensure workforce efficiency aligns with both patient care and organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and embedding of e-Job Planning for AHP staff across the Trust.
  • Manage workforce productivity projects using Quality Improvement (QI) and programme management methodologies.
  • Configure and maintain the Allocate/Optima system, train users, and ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Support demand and capacity planning, analysing workforce data to guide strategic decisions.
  • Develop operational policies, guidance materials, and act as the subject matter expert for AHP job planning.
  • Chair meetings and job planning reviews with clinical divisions and teams.
  • Conduct research or audits to improve workforce planning processes.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Proven experience in project management and workforce transformation
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered AHP
  • Experience across multiple AHP settings and multidisciplinary teams

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and project delivery skills
  • Ability to manage complex conversations and drive organisational change
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with workforce data reporting
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including Allocate/Optima e-Job Planning
  • Ability to think creatively, apply political judgement, and navigate complex policies
