Job Description
About the Hospital
This Bolton-based 24/7 veterinary hospital has quietly built a reputation for doing things differently — and doing them properly.
Operating as a Community Interest Company (CIC), the hospital exists to increase access to veterinary care for pets who would otherwise go untreated. That structure allows clinicians to practise medicine with integrity, transparency, and confidence.
The hospital provides:
- Affordable first-opinion care
- A busy emergency & critical care service
- Referral-level surgical capability
- 24/7 nursing and veterinary support
- The result is a diverse, challenging caseload that keeps your skills sharp while remaining grounded in continuity of care.
The Role
As a Veterinary Surgeon here, you’ll work across first-opinion, emergency, and hospital cases, supported by experienced colleagues and hospital-grade facilities.
This role suits a vet who:
- Enjoys diagnostics and clinical reasoning
- Values teamwork and shared decision-making
- Wants exposure to complex and urgent cases without losing client relationships
- Cares deeply about ethical, accessible medicine
- You’ll never be working in isolation. Complex cases are discussed, supported, and managed together — because good outcomes are a team effort.
What Makes This Role Different
- A caseload that challenges and rewards
- You’ll see a genuine mix of:
- Emergency and critical cases
- Complex medical workups
- Soft-tissue and referral-level surgery
- First-opinion continuity cases
- This balance keeps the job stimulating without burning you out.
A hospital built around collaboration
With 24/7 vet and nursing cover, on-site diagnostics, and an established A&E service, you always have support. Decisions are shared, learning is constant, and no one is left carrying cases alone.
Values that genuinely shape practice
The hospital’s mission is simple but powerful:
No pet should be denied treatment or euthanised when a viable option exists.
Free consultations and transparent pricing remove pressure from the consulting room — allowing you to practise medicine the right way.
