About the Opportunity
A well-established automotive specialist based in Essex, UK is seeking an experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join its growing team. The business focuses on high-end European and premium vehicle brands, delivering high-quality diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled mechanics already in the UK or international candidates who meet Skilled Worker visa eligibility, as visa sponsorship and accommodation support are available.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are repaired to the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical vehicle faults
- Completing scheduled servicing and repair work
- Testing components and vehicle systems to confirm correct operation
- Performing essential vehicle care tasks (oil changes, tyre replacement, etc.)
- Undertaking advanced mechanical repairs such as engine rebuilds and timing chain work
- Maintaining clear and accurate records of completed and ongoing work
- Delivering a professional and customer-focused service experience
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Total: 45 hours per week
Breaks Included:
- 1-hour lunch
- 15-minute morning break
- 15-minute afternoon break
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar mechanic or automotive technician role
- Strong knowledge of petrol and diesel engines
- Proven experience with engine rebuilding, head gasket replacement, and timing chain work
- Familiarity with premium brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi/VW, and Porsche
- Dealership or specialist garage experience (preferred)
- Basic to advanced understanding of vehicle electrics (advantageous)
- A positive, reliable, and professional attitude
Qualifications & Licensing
- A formal automotive qualification is preferred
- A valid UK driving licence or International Driving Permit
- Assistance with licence conversion can be provided where applicable
- Overseas applicants must meet UK Skilled Worker visa requirements, including English language proficiency (e.g. IELTS)
