Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Consultant Engineer to join our Leeds team. This is a highly technical position with the opportunity to lead projects and eventually manage a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design foundations and geotechnical structures for various projects
• Provide expert guidance on complex geotechnical issues
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams locally and internationally
• Deliver high-quality technical solutions across transport, renewable energy, and urban development projects
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development

Preferred Technical Expertise:

• Pile design in chalk and glacial till
• Offshore projects (windfarms, ports)
• Railway infrastructure, depots, and station design
• Embankments and cuttings
• Ground improvement and treatment

Candidate Profile

• Chartered Civil Engineer (or working toward chartership) UK Engineering Council Registration
• 5–10 years’ relevant industry experience
• Able to work independently with ambition to lead a team
• Strong analytical, design, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
