About the Role
Henley Business School invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor in Accounting to join our thriving and research-active Department of Finance & Accounting. We are searching for an academically ambitious individual with an established track record of excellence in Accounting scholarship, particularly with publications in leading Accounting journals.
The successful candidate will contribute to research, teaching, and academic citizenship within the Accounting group. You will be part of a collaborative department that brings together the ICMA Centre (Finance) and the Accountancy discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Academic Leadership
- Lead and conduct innovative research in Accounting with a clear trajectory toward internationally recognised outputs.
- Secure external research funding and engage in research collaborations aligned with the School’s strategy.
- Supervise PhD researchers and contribute to strengthening the research environment.
Teaching & Programme Support
- Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate (pre-experience Masters) levels, delivering high-quality education in core Accounting subject areas.
- Contribute expertise in one or more of the following:
- Management Accounting
Financial Accounting
- Data Analytics in Accounting
- Provide academic support to students, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in assessment activities.
Service & Citizenship
- Undertake module leadership, administrative duties, and wider academic citizenship roles.
- Contribute to departmental, School, and University initiatives, supporting the institution’s strategic goals.
Essential Requirements
- A completed PhD in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Demonstrated experience teaching at university level.
- Evidence of high-quality research outputs in top-tier Accounting journals.
- Proven experience applying data analytics within Accounting.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
