Job Description
We’re delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Team Manager to join our Hambleton & Richmond Wellbeing in Mind Team. This role sits at the heart of early intervention mental health support, working directly with schools and colleges to improve emotional wellbeing and resilience for children and young people.
Wellbeing in Mind Teams are Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs), aligned with national priorities to expand access to mental health support in education settings. As Team Manager, you’ll provide strong operational leadership, nurture a skilled multidisciplinary team, and help shape how mental health support is delivered locally.
If you’re a compassionate leader with a strong clinical background and a passion for system-wide impact, this role offers genuine opportunity to make a difference.
About the Wellbeing in Mind Team
The team delivers support through three equally weighted core functions, each accounting for approximately one-third of activity:
Whole-School & College Wellbeing
Supporting education settings to develop and embed a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing. This includes contributing to policies, resources, staff training, assemblies, campaigns, and PSHE curriculum development.
Consultation & Advice for Education Staff
Offering timely advice and consultation to teachers and education staff, helping them build confidence and skills in supporting student wellbeing—through both formal consultation and informal guidance.
Direct Clinical Work with Young People
Providing assessment and low-intensity psychological interventions for children and young people within education settings, primarily using CBT-informed approaches.
Your Role as Team Manager
As Team Manager, you will provide operational leadership and day-to-day management of the team while remaining closely connected to clinical quality and outcomes. You’ll be trusted to balance competing priorities, manage risk, and maintain strong partnerships across education, health, and local services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership, line management, and clinical supervision to team members
- Supporting service development, pathways, and new ways of working
- Ensuring high standards of safeguarding, risk assessment, and quality practice
- Working collaboratively with schools, colleges, and partner agencies
- Contributing to locality-wide leadership alongside other Team Managers and Clinical Leads
- Supporting senior leaders by reporting outcomes, performance, and impact to stakeholders
- You’ll join a service known for its learning culture, innovation, and mutual support.
