Job Description

An exciting opportunity awaits passionate, skilled, and enthusiastic individuals to join the Rheumatology Team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. As a key member of this team, you’ll work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group to deliver exceptional, specialized care. With guidance from a senior Clinical Nurse Specialist, the successful candidate will have the chance to expand their expertise and skills within this dynamic field.

Main Duties, Tasks, and Skills Required
You’ll build and refine your expertise to deliver and assess high-quality, seamless specialist nursing services, ensuring patients receive top-tier clinical care. This role involves sharing your specialist knowledge by providing advice, education, and support to staff, patients, families, and carers. With mentorship from experienced nurses, you’ll gain proficiency in key areas of specialist practice through hands-on experience, training, and education.

Your responsibilities will include shaping and updating policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines, while maintaining safe, effective practice within a team setting. You’ll support team performance, optimize resource use, and deliver educational programs for healthcare staff and patients.

This role is based at a specific site or service, potentially extending to community settings across various health and care providers. You may also work in non-NHS environments—such as secure units or prisons—requiring travel across a designated area.
