Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

• Provide and maintain a high standard of evidence-based, patient-centred care.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and develop practical skills within the specialty while reflecting the philosophy of care.
• Deliver patient care daily, using systems in place for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care, which involves patients and their families/carers.
• Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide clinical and managerial leadership in the absence of senior team members, empowering staff to deliver evidence-based nursing care.

Person Specification

Qualifications
Essential:

• Registered Nurse part 1, 7, or 10 of the NMC register.
• Degree or working towards a degree.
• Teaching/Mentorship Qualification.

Desirable:

• Foundation in neonatology.
• Qualification in specialty.

Experience
Essential:

• Post-registration experience in neonates.
• Teaching ability and experience.

Additional Criteria
Essential:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Analytical and judgement skills.
• Planning and organisational skills.
