The Opportunity
Brighton & Sussex Medical School (BSMS) is inviting applications for a part-clinical, part-academic role as Associate Professor in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, with an honorary consultant contract at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex). This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking clinical pharmacologist with a passion for innovative teaching and a commitment to research.
The successful applicant will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate education and play a key role in shaping the future of clinical pharmacology teaching within a growing medical school.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who is:
- Dually accredited in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CPT) and General Internal Medicine.
- Experienced in medical and CPT education at various levels, including specialist training.
- Knowledgeable in a range of educational strategies such as curriculum development, assessment, simulation-based learning, digital tools, and interprofessional education.
- Research-active, with a proven or developing academic profile in CPT or a related field.
- Committed to enhancing student learning and supporting curriculum expansion at BSMS.
Your Role at BSMS
Based in the Department of Medical Education, your academic duties will include curriculum development, teaching, and contributing to the school’s high educational standards.
You will be encouraged to pursue and develop your own research interests within the field of pharmacology and therapeutics.
Clinically, you will be aligned with UHSussex, primarily based at Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Sussex County Hospital, with potential cross-site responsibilities.
